As of today, Major Industries is a dynamic exploration of contemporary pop culture through various artistic mediums, both digital and analog, by the artist Massimo Major.

Massimo Major thrives on the spirit of exploration and bucks the blueprint of a traditional artist. Entirely self-taught, he began with the simplest of tools, a sketchbook and a pencil, and frequently attempts new techniques, mediums, and methods of creating and applying his art.

A recurring figure in Major’s work is Daniel Dumile, a British-born hip-hop genius who built his own universe of poetry and died suddenly in 2020—leaving hip-hop, and Major, forever changed. Dumile was known for wearing a mask on stage evocative of the Fantastic Four villain Dr. Doom which shaped his industry persona as MF DOOM (Metal Face Doom). Interestingly, MF DOOM wore the mask as a way to deflect limiting judgements and impressions that inevitably follow visual observation, ultimately allowing for a broader interpretation of his work and greater range of creative liberty.

Similarly, in traversing a variety of mediums and subjects rather than a more specialized trajectory, Major preserves his creative freedom and right to evolution as a contemporary creative.

Originally from Encino, California, Major resides in San Marcos while he attends Cal State San Marcos. He is available for commissions and collaborations, and always eager to take on new creative challenges.
